Why We Built This Site
Kansas gives the public several levels of court access. Kansas CaseSearch supplies permitted case information and an events index. A courthouse terminal can expose additional public material, while Melissa Trim, Clerk of the Bourbon County District Court, handles requests for district-court documents and certified copies. Fort Scott and other municipal matters begin with the issuing city instead. Bringing those distinct channels together helps readers choose the correct office, understand Bourbon's old and new case-number formats, and avoid treating a payment portal as a complete court record.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket help: how Bourbon County criminal and civil entries are found and read
- Hearing settings: how to check court dates and confirm a changed setting
- Case lookup: how to search by party name or case number through Kansas CaseSearch
- File requests: how to seek court records, public copies, and clerk certification
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Kansas court, clerk, or government agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes found on some content pages. They operate their own services and set their own charges. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports this resource. Those providers control their results, prices, and terms; Bourbon County Court Docket does not.
